I am vegetarian and would like to do it healthily in a way that builds muscle rather than fat.
In June i was doing good, i had a steady gain but I slacked off and lost all the weight again.

I'm vegetarian right now and it's working really well. I got one more pack of cig's to smoke and i'm quitting. I'll probably relapse within a week though but i hope i can quit the habit.

I was vegetarian for almost 2 years. I ate very healthy, and took all my vitamins. still ended up anemic and very unhealthy.
once I started eating meat again I was healthy

Well, i've been vegetarian for 3 years, and none of that is the case for me.

Your body might react differently too being vegetarian than some other bodies will.

Side affects may include death :D

Seriously, eat your damn meat. Build your muscle.

You can't eat a medium well salad. And if you can, PROVE ME WRONG.

there is no need to take vitamins when you eat correctly.

and yeah, the processed fake meats are shit, bar a select few. Most are Full of soy and unwanted hormones.
They are healthier in terms of fat content, however.

right. you just don't get enough protein so it is extremely hard for you to gain muscle and keep it on.

It's actually my metabolism, not my protein intake. I get plenty of protein via plant sources and dairy.
Even before I became vegetarian I was considered slightly underweight for my height.

The most fit i've ever been in my life was when I rock climbed regularly and ate primarily a raw diet.
I had never felt so good, I can't wait to start climbing again, there are too many biting insects at the crag this time of year!

I walk on a tredmill for 3 miles every other day and it works really well. I've been trying to get weight lifting into the mix too so i can add muscle. I imagine that being vegetarian is only something i'll do until i can get my weight to what i consider a healthy and fit level and than gradually mix meat back into the mix and find a heathy diet that'll allow me to eat meat and still maintain a healthy diet and weight.
