My boss has an interesting habit of sending me solo to conferences. I appreciate the faith but could use some team support from time to time.

Just leaving San Francisco.

My work day consists of browsing reddit, jerking off, and occasionally doing work.

I need to start figuring out how to get internships and/or any job where I can get biotech experience. I dont think I can get a professor to let me do research because they don't really like me. I get good grades, I'm just real unlikeable overall.

Let me do sciences goddamnit. I'll wash beakers, goddamn.

What district?  That's unfortunate.

I'm in the process of signing with FSUSD.  Hiring has been pretty good this year in the central valley it seems.  At least for everyone but social sciences.

moraga. the burbs were nice while they lasted.

some profs do seek beaker washers/data collectors!

closest experience i had was ALMOSTworking with a fat white'n philosopher-bearded professor of discrete and continuous signals. was studying heart math vibes, finding patterns/eventually used for diagnostics but then he retired his labbbbb/himssssellllffff  yay something to think about until i start end of sept

i worked at the chitown museum of the science and industry through college. studied my way through slow days, hated humans through busy days, but free access to science! 3yrs later, i'm entering the operating room life in the central/midwest usa and will get to dodge needles and clunky microscopes thrown at me by surgeons when robits fail or confuse them! excited about the freedom of the jorb, but omgggg the clinical bit of it is beyond interesting, but also intimidating to handle. yesterday, was troubleshooting microscope integration with a navigation system in a corner of the OR while 6 other people coordinate the drilling of a burrhole into skull to suck out tumor fat/blood drips ehhhh meanwhile, foo fighters or linkin park or rhcp narrate the roomGOOD LORD THIS IS GOING TO GET SOME GETTING USED TO

oh yeah! troubleshooting results: 3d overlay has either a blue or pink tint, replace the cable! and don't trip over other functioning cables and knock over a resident poking needles! :xdmagix:

but wait! aren't you on the comp sci track? does that mean you're going to design space/bio-robit graphic documentaries?!

<--- Application Consultant

and now begins the phasing out of Hotline until the end of September.

*sort of* covered my first transsphenoidal pituitary tumor resection case on my own a couple weeks ago. scary times. neurosurgeon decided to stick a clunky microscope that blocked the IR camera's field of view and navigation system -

"why isn't it tracking?"

"because the microscope is in the w-"

"navigation is useless!"

*me standing there for 45 more minutes like a foo'*

luckily enough, he moved the clunker out of the way for the last verification and it worked. got my hands on some camera adjustments and kept thinking 'wtf is my life' as i'm inches away from a burrhole and biopsy samples. too real.

jobbing my old and new job is hurting my brain! i've had enough of petty remote support requests!

covered by first tumor resection case by myself last week! tucked underneath the cerebellum/chillin near the brainstem; 'twas a clunker!

also got yelled at by the resident because the IR camera positioning wasn't optimal BECAUSE HEY STOP MOVING THE BED

needed a 30minute silent grace period/meditation in my car after the 4 hours of brain watching through a microscope.

work update:

- lost count in how many brains i've seen/supported. biopsies, craniotomies, tumor recurrences/resections, awake cranis, shunt placements  :frogbon:

- the politics inside an OR/surgery floor is hilarious. so glad i decided not to pursue a career working directly for a medical facility /lolegos

- gutted one of our navigation systems for a hardware/software upgrade 3x aka quality time with cpu parts and running usb cables past gas springs and pinching fingers, just a handful more to go in the region; it's a nice break from the clinical exposure though!
