Back in the day people used to splice together individual drum hits from cassette tapes.

If you can't make a killer beat using fucking Adobe Audition or any other basic multitrack audio editor, then you can't make killer beats using anything and you should do something else. Non-linear editing have made musicans lazy.

like i said the pros use max msp and pure data, which are far more involved than cutting tape, probably takes less finesse though.

I love max msp.
it is a steep learning curve though especially compared with ableton.

kicks ass though. ive never learned it, but i know dudes who do incredible things with it.

i mustve only scratched the surface but you can do so much with it. I do stuggle to write/record with it though

yea i mean there are other programs to do that with, its almost like a tool building program.
