i recorded one cd using cubase. god. that was a nightmare. ableton and acid pro are the best for recording quick albums, and if you want to record seriously and do all the gritty stuff, go logic.

No way, man. I've tried so many platforms for audio recording; Cubase SX3 works so fucking well for everything I do.

Because while it's kinda hard to use, you basically have unlimited posibilities when you finally learn how to use it. If you're just going to make music for fun, it's probably not worth the effort though. My point is that it's a very rewarding program if you put some time into it.

What went wrong? Cubase is super anal, you can't just expect it to magically make your shit sound good.

most of what i download from the internet i download illegally, i have a copy of photoshop which i got illegally. lots of people do it.
it's our generation. it's our way of doin' thangs.

I got this with my Toneport UX2 2 years ago..never got around to learning it. it's i guess not hard but somewhow I'll fuck it up. If I could just get it to make simple drum beats--just like a bass and snare going at least--I'd be all set.

Ableton is good for somethings like making really weird electronic songs, but I don't really like the way it handles real instruments.
