Quasimoto's "The Unseen" is in my top 5 favorite albums of all time. My brother gave it to me back in 2000 when it came out and I never get tired of it. 8 years later, it is still consistently in my rotation. When I started collecting vinyl, I made sure it was the first album I picked up. Love it love it love it.

Around a month after Further Adventures came out I found myself not too thrilled about that album, and sort of felt it was a mild sophomore slump. This past year though, it's grown on me. I still think The Unseen is near unbeatable, but its followup is really sweet too.

I sort of feel that those two albums and Madvillainy make up the great bulk of Madlib's good output. Which is too bad since those three albums are so great, and the rest leave me wanting more.

I can't wait for the second Madvillain record.. Too bad they're taking their time, but I guess it'll be worth it. I'm actually one of few people I know who prefers Further Adventures to The Unseen, although obviously both are amazing.

And I agree Abelian, those three are just way above the rest of Madlib's stuff, although some of his instrumental stuff is killer as well.

I'm in agreement here, on all counts.

I initially was unsatisfied with Further Adventures but it has grown on me a lot recently. But so far anything Quasimoto related and the first Madvillainy album are considerably better than the rest of his output, yes. Though, I do like his stuff with Dudley Perkins.

Wait wait wait... you're not too keen on Madlib but you love Aesop Rock?

Something is up here.

Yeah I know, I'm an idiot for my musical taste, and get shit on every day in here.
I dont love Aesop Rock, in fact I rarely listen to him, but I prefer his raps to Madlibs... Dont you?

I really don't understand this place.

People will appreciate Lil Wayne, Quasimoto, Juelz Santana even

But if I mention The Cool Kids or Aesop Rock, I'm getting laughed at.

There is no question that Quas is better than Aesop Rock. It's a truth.
