I think guitar deserves its own topic, no? Bass has got one, so what the hell.
I'm in the market for a new guitar, and recently i've taken a liking to some Ibanez models. I'll probably end up with an Artcore or another Tele.

I know where you're coming from, any Ibanez I pick up has a weird feel to it, something you can't really explain. My tele is great but kinda old and falling apart so i might just get another one, or a strat.

I played a Jag, it wasn't really for me.
I'm purchasing a Fender Tele soon, I can't wait.
I've tried and tested it, those things are beautiful.
Never played on a jazzmaster, I love the design of it though. Because it's unlike anything I've really seen.

how often do you guys change your strings, and what gauge etc do you like?

my strings tend to get dirty real fast , but then again I guess I don't change them often so it makes sense

I have a rag that I wipe the dirt and rust off before I play. if i dont it kind of hurts and leaves me fingers smelling like gross shit

if there's that much grime on your strings, you should probably change them more often

i use ernie ball super slinkies and, recently, DR tite fit strings.

i generally leave a pack of strings on for about 6-7 months.

i very rarely clean them (every 3 months?) with a sheet of printer-paper and run the paper up/down each string a couple of times.

I use super slinkies too, but I've only been using them for about half a year now.
Previously I used hybrid slinky before opening up to the super.
I usually clean them after playing, just with a simple cloth and what not.
