Say you'll love me again. Uncry these tears....

I think that's why I said Aaron instead of Anthony. Anthony => Tony => Toni.

Is Tyondai's solo stuff just loops and beeps?

Also, Anthony Braxton is hardly jazz, but yeah.

I just found some of his solo stuff, so I'm not too familiar with it, and yes, it's more noise experimentation than Battles' song structures and stuff.

And yeah, his dad is much more experimental than the typical "jazz" label contains, but yeah. Ha. That's really all you can say.

But yeah.

So all of his free jazz work isn't jazz, then?

I need to listen to minus the bear to see why they need 7 line6 delays.

I'm pretty sure the bass player uses another DL4, bringing the total up to 8.

I've listened to Minus The Bear a bit, but I still don't know exactly why they need all of them, unless they don't use them all to record instead of going back in and overdubbing other tracks (while that seems impressive, it also seems kind of silly). I suppose the best way to get a good idea of their use would be to watch live vids.

Regarding minus the bear:

Dave loops a lot prior to each song, and simply calls each loop up while they play.

You can hear him playing bits and pieces of songs before they start, and he engages them when he wants pretty much

It's pretty sick, I like his style a lot

Yeah man me too, even though I don't own a DL-4 or play anything involving loops, hes definitely one of my favourite players. Then again he's toned down the looping a little on Planet of Ice, and before Menos el Oso he didn't really do it at all.
I guess there might be some other kind of looper that can do what the 4 DL-4s does for him in one pedal, but I just find the DL-4 really easy to use, I guess he must as well.

Also here's Brian Aubert from Silversun Pickups board, if anyone cares:
