Except for MAYBE the Aidan Baker, Tim Hecker album.

Look for some:
Natural Snow Buildings
My Cat Is An Alien
Steven R. Smith (and all associated projects)
Daniel Menche
Bee Mask
Brother Raven
Emeralds (also any of the side and solo projects involving Mark McGuire, Steve Hauschildt, or John Elliot)
Oneohtrix Point Never
Double Leopards (and anything related to Marcia Bassett)
Burning Star Core (see also C. Spencer Yeh)
Skullflower (see also Matthew Bower)
Barn Owl
Keith Fullerton Whitman (sort of, but thats more "ambient")
Anything James Ferraro is associated with
Valet
Grouper
Inca Ore
(those last three being pretty popular "local" artists where I live, the middle being popular in general.)

I can post links for some stuff tomorrow if anyone is interested. Really tired right now. Just figured if this is going to be a "drone" thread, then it might as well go in the proper direction.

Emeralds is aight, and is a good place for people not hyper familiar with the scene to start, but really, its all the members other acts, that I think are the dopest. Especially Skyramps and any Steve Hauschildt solo stuff.

Also, I am down with Emeralds, cause I dig the super low and slow analog synth drones lately.

i'll upload/find links to jooklo's infinity, even though i prefer their more 'exotic/worldy' mix of instruments from their Solar Vision lp, i still think it dronez pr. hard. ~ along with groupers DADDUAH, which IMO is a fuckin classic in general.

p.s. wtf is up with grouper and inca ore splits? i have two but they are called the same thing w/ different tracks @.@

Robedoor - Exorcist Blues
even though i'm severely behind on having robedoor's discog i really like their latest album. was introduced to this over the summer and of all the drone albums that i have that only have two tracks (not sure if anyone ever refers to them that way) i think this one has got to be one of my more favored ones. complete parralels between both sides, first track, 'magic tar pit ride' offers a more consistent and less breathy pouring of deafened rich tones... if that makes sense. it sounds really cool. and the 2nd track 'natural darkness' is a lot lighter and more spaced out, lots of badass tones and the mixing in general is just really unique (i love the sound of how low the drums are in the mix) good place to start i think

is drone like Boris where they will play the same really dark, slow, heavily distorted guitar riffs with a bunch of a feedback for like 10 minutes?

That skyramps record is so ace.
