What is there not to love about epic 20-minute crescendos?

Some big names include Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosions in the Sky, and Sigur Ros.

"Villa de Refugio" is my favorite piece by This Will Destroy You. The rest of that album is amazing as well.

Personally, my favorite post-rock album is Goodbye Enemy Airship, The Landlord is Dead by Do Make Say think. Perfect album from start to finish. Perfect length too.

I had posted this on the coma right before it started to sink... check out this band, they're called Set The White Flags On Fire Slowly, they're post rock out of Russia. They're pretty good.

Post Rock is great, I love Mono and all the other bands mentioned in the first post. Oh and A Silver Mt. Zion although I only really consider their first album to be "post rock"

I enjoy it, but I only ever listen to Post-Rock when I feel like listening to something I don't need to attentively listen to.

Red Sparowes should also be noted. They're pretty sweet, in that they are just like the other post-rockers mentioned in this thread.

I lied. I also listen to Post-Rock when I'm having sex. It makes the sex much more epic.

I definitely agree with Slint. Get Spiderland.

Talk Talk's Laughing Stock and Bark Psychosis's Hex also deserve a lot of love.

Long live the forerunners of Post-Rock!
